This contemporary art collection first began to take shape in the late 1970s. Walter Vanhaerents recently decided to open it to the public in a renovated building. The collection offers an overview of contemporary art and is constantly evolving: promising young artists are shown in relation to the established figures that inspired them. There is a particular focus on pop art and its Japanese counterparts (Nara, Murakami, and Aoshima).
